Parabond MARINE-PARQUET
Structural Adhesive Sealant

DESCRIPTION

PARABOND MARINE - PARQUET is a one component bonding sealant based on hybrid polymer, which after extrusion cures by reaction with moisture in the atmosphere to form a high performance elastomeric adhesive sealant.
PARABOND MARINE - PARQUET has a high resistance to ageing (UV), weathering, high and low temperatures (-40°C - +90°C)
PARABOND MARINE - PARQUET has a minimum loss of weight and volume after vulcanisation; as such the internal tension between the joints is limited to a minimum, which results in longer life expectancy of the joint. The sealant can be abrased after vulcanisation.

APPLICATION

PARABOND MARINE - PARQUET can be used for sealing joints on ship decks and in parquet, as well as for glueing parquet. For sealing of ship decks, the primer DL 2001 is recommended to obtain a good adhesive strength.
PARABOND MARINE - PARQUET can also be used on alkaline surfaces such as concrete and brick. A primer is recommended.

JOINT DIMENSIONS

Joint width Joint depth Allowed difference
3-4 mm 4-5 mm ± 1 mm
6 mm 6 mm ± 1 mm
8 mm 6 mm ± 1 mm
10 mm 6-8 mm ± 2 mm
15 mm 10 mm ± 2 mm
20 mm 10-12 mm ± 2 mm
25 mm 15 mm ± 3 mm

APPLICATION TEMPERATURE

+ 5°C - + 40°C

PREPARATION

All surfaces should be clean, dry. If necessary, degrease with Top Cleaner, M.E.K., alcohol, ethanol or use primer. It is recommended that adhesion tests be carried out to determine the suitability of the product for its application.
(Consult our technical service)

PRIMERS

On porous surfaces, Primer DL 2001 is recommended.

TOOLING

When needed, with DL 100 or tools.

COLOURS

black

CLEANING

before vulcanisation :
a) tools : with white spirit or other solvent
b) surfaces : with a solvent
after vulcanisation :
Remove as much as possible mechanically; the remainders of the silicone with Silicone Remover.

REPAIRING

With the same product.

RESTRICTIONS

Use in well ventilated rooms. Do not expose to thermal, mechanical or chemical influences before complete vulcanisation.
PARABOND MARINE - PARQUET is not suitable for joints exposed to constant water immersion.

PAINTABLE

PARABOND MARINE - PARQUET is perfectly paintable with most water based and solvent based paints, even wet-on-wet.
Alkyd paints require an extended drying time.
It is recommended to do tests in advance.

SHELF LIFE

12 months in unopened packing at 23°C.

PACKING

25 cartridges of 290 ml/box – 48 boxes/pallet.

METHOD OF USE

With a gun (manual or pneumatic). The shape of the joint is important. Avoid thin layers.

PRECAUTIONS

Avoid any contact with skin and eyes. If swallowed, consult a physician. Contains a mixture of amino silanes. May produce an allergic reaction
Keep away from children.
Consult the safety data sheet
